CGC Trading Cards Will Certify Pokémon Metal Commemorative Anniversary Cards
Posted on 11/9/2021
Twenty-five years ago, the world was introduced to the fantastical realm of Pokémon, a franchise that skyrocketed with the release of video games, anime and trading cards. To celebrate the silver anniversary, The Pokémon Company released a new box set, The Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection, which became available in October. This celebratory box set contains collectible items, booster packs (which include 25 new cards and 25 reprints from past series) and two commemorative metal cards.

Featuring Pikachu and Charizard, two of the most popular original pocket monsters, the metal cards are each an exact copy of their Base Set counterparts released years ago. CGC Trading Cards is pleased to announce that it can authenticate, grade and encapsulate these special metal commemorative cards.
“CGC Trading Cards has graded some of the rarest sets and cards the franchise has ever printed,” said Matt Quinn, CGC Trading Cards Senior Grading Finalizer. “The CGC Trading Cards team is excited to certify these monumental anniversary cards.”
CGC Trading Cards has graded several extremely rare Pokémon cards, including a Pokémon Illustrator card (of which only 39 exist), a No. 1 Trainer Trophy card and an exclusive English VS Set from the 2001 Tropical Mega Battle.
