CSG Eliminates Package Backlog

Posted on 10/4/2021

A robust and ongoing effort to increase capacity has enabled CSG to catch up on the backlog of packages that were waiting to be opened.

Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG™) is excited to announce that it has caught up on the backlog of packages that were waiting to be opened. This important accomplishment follows a monthslong effort that included thousands of hours of overtime, hundreds of new hires, operational efficiency consultants and massive investments in technology and office space.

CSG launched in February 2021 and almost immediately experienced extraordinary demand for its expert and impartial certification services for sports cards. As a result, CSG grew to have an unprecedented number of packages waiting to be opened and entered into its system. At its peak, the backlog was about 4,500 packages.

Now, every package has been opened, and submitters have full visibility into the status of their submissions through the online CSG Submission Tracking tool. To view the current status of a submission, sign in to your account at CSGcards.com and select “Submission Tracking” under “Submit.” You can also see the week of submissions being opened on the CSG Services & Fees page.

The elimination of the package backlog also reflects an overall reduction in CSG’s turnaround times, but there continue to be long delays for submissions under CSG’s Bulk and Economy grading tiers. CSG remains fully focused on increasing capacity throughout its grading process to achieve its goal of providing sports card collectors and dealers with the most accurate and efficient certification services.

CSG has also made it easier to submit! In mid-August, CSG released a new and improved online submission form, which features a faster and more intuitive design that has been optimized for mobile devices. With each of these initiatives, from clearing the backlog to increasing capacity to investing in upgrades, CSG is committed to serving the hobby with the best grading experience.

“We thank our submitters for their patience during this time, as well as our dedicated team who worked tirelessly over the last several months to meet the incredible demand for our expert and impartial certification services,” says Michael Browne, COO of the Certified Collectibles Group, which includes CSG. “With this achievement, we will continue our efforts to eliminate all delays across our grading process, knowing we are on the right track.”
