What makes it special? Thousand Dragon is a Secret Rare Yu-Gi-Oh! card, meaning that it is very difficult to pull. Although Metal Raiders is still the largest non-reprint Yu-Gi-Oh! set to date, the entire 144-card set only contained two Secret Rare cards, including Thousand Dragon. The other Secret Rare card is Gate Guardian.

Did you know? Thousand Dragon is a Fusion Monster, meaning that it can only be summoned by using the correct materials — usually two other monsters — and then playing Polymerization. By sending the materials to the graveyard under Polymerization’s effects, a Fusion Monster can be summoned from a player’s Extra Deck.

Because it is a Fusion Monster, Thousand Dragon can use both of its material monsters’ abilities. The first material monster, Time Wizard, can destroy all monsters controlled by the opponent (as long as the player calls the correct coin flip). The second material monster, Baby Dragon, is simply a base card with no abilities.
