CGC Trading Cards Featured Card of the Month: Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Posted on 7/21/2022
Game: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Set: (2002) North American English, Shonen Jump Volume 1
Card: Blue-Eyes White Dragon
What makes it special? The Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game is based on the manga franchise launched in 1996 by Kazuki Takahashi (who, sadly, passed away recently). He published the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, and this particular version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card was distributed through a similar North American publication called Shonen Jump. This "virtually invincible" dragon is one of the monsters used in the duels in gameplay.
Did you know? Takahashi owned a Shiba Inu named Taro, which he used as the inspiration for the Shiba-Warrior Taro card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! (2008) North American English, Shonen Jump (10th) Anniversary Pack.
